From South Cotabato to Iligan City for Waterfalling Adventure Tour

Last September 25, I traveled to Iligan City  to attend the Waterfalling Adventure Tour 1.0, an event for bloggers in lined with Iligan City's Diyandi Festival celebration. This event was organized by the Iligan Bloggers Society Inc, they invited 15 bloggers from different blogging communities all over Philippines and I am lucky enough to be one of the two representatives from the SOCCSKSARGEN Bloggers, the other one is Doc Remo Aguilar of TacurongCity.Net.
Rural Tours buses plys the Tacurong-Bukidnon- Cagayan de Oro route daily
Since I will be going with Doc Remo which is based in Tacurong City and we will be using the Tacurong-CDO- Iligan route, I stayed in a friend's house in Koronadal City overnight to be able to catch up for the early morning trip the following day via a Rural Tours bus, and as I expected I was not able to sleep night before the trip, I don't know but that's always the case when I am scheduled for a trip especially long travels, excited lang!

Prior to our trip, I was informed by Doc Remo that the first trip of Rural Bus Transit bound for Cagayan De Oro is as early as 5am that means I really have to be early, so I left Koronadal City very early as planned. I commissioned a motorcycle which I found near the old Yellow Bus Line Terminal (Yap Mabuhay) in Koronadal City, there are about seven of them parked there which are all waiting for passengers, I bargained with the drivers for the lowest fare to Tacurong City and one agreed to bring me to Tacurong City Bus Terminal for 150 pesos I think that was fair enough already . We left Koronadal at around 3:30AM and by 4:00AM I was already  inside the bus terminal in Tacurong.
Early bird. I arrived at Tacurong City Bus Terminal around 4:00 AM.
There were already number of buses mostly Rural Tours bus at Tacurong City Bus Terminal when I arrived, and passengers too waiting for the first trip to Cagayan de Oro City. The first trip of Rural Bus which is an air-conditioned bus to CDO that day left Tacurong  at 5AM, but I was not able to go onboard because I still need to wait for Doc Remo who had informed me that we might take the next scheduled airconditioned bus.

At around 5:30AM we were already on-board the next airconditioned bus bound for CDO and left Tacurong City at exactly 6:00 AM. The trip was smooth and relaxed except for the few stop-overs where the bus needed to pick-up passengers in bus terminals like in Kabacan, Maramag, Malaybalay in Bukidnon  and others.  By around 1:00PM our bus had another stop-over at Valencia City Bus Terminal where we and other passengers took a quick lunch before proceeding with the remaining hours of travel to Cagayan de Oro City.  We finally arrived in Agora Bus Station in Cagayan de Oro City around 3:20PM.

From Agora Bus Terminal we took a taxi which brought us to Bulua Terminal (Southbound) still in Cagayan De Oro, buses which are plying to Pagadian, Zamboanga, Ozamis and Iligan City (where we are heading that day) can be found there at Bulua Bus Terminal. From CDO we rode another Rural Transit Bus which left for Iligan City at around 4:00 PM, and we arrived in Iligan City by 6:20 PM a very long travel but is understandable due to numbers of road repairs and constructions on going along the CDO-Iligan highways. Normally, CDO to Iligan trip will only take you more or less an hour.

That was more than 12 hours of travel from South Cotabato!
