At SIKAT in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato [12/19/2012]

Last November 26-30, 2012, I participated in one of the most meaningful seminar I have attended - the Eco Guides' Training conducted by AVLDA and LGSP-LED. It was held at Mountain Log Resort in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

On the last two days of our training we had a mock tour at some of Allah Valley Landscape's tourists destinations which includes the Baras Bird Sanctuary in Tacurong City, the grandiose Sultan Kudarat Provincial Capitol in Isulan, Marguez Hot & Cold Springs in Esperanza, Tri-People Monument in Surallah and of course the Summer Capital of Southern Philippines - Lake Sebu town in South Cotabato.

Photo-A-Day Challenge: Day 2 - Group Picture at SIKAT (School of Indigenous Knowledge & Traditions) of the T'boli tribe located in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

I really enjoyed our visit at SIKAT, we were not only entertained with T'boli music and dances by the students and teachers dressed in their traditional T'boli costumes but also we were able to learn so much about the culture and traditions of the T'boli's of South Cotabato. I will be making a different post about SIKAT and hopefully will organize something like a project for the students and the school. That will be next year so watch out.. ^^
